I just wanted to write this little conversation down before I forgot it.
We were at Temple Square Christmas eve morning to see the Christus statue and as we were walking back to the car Sofie asks...
Sofie: Mom, who made the clouds?
Mom: Who do you think made them?
Sofie: Heavenly Father.
Mom: Yes, he made the heavens and the earth.
Sofie: He made the animals too. He made pigs, I don't like pigs, they stink.
Pretty random but also very funny. This kid comes up with the goofiest things sometimes.

Kyle's First Birthday
Kyle had his birthday yesterday. I can't believe that it has been a whole year already. It went way too fast. Nathan had to take a final last night just like Kyle's actual birth day. So we haven't done cake and ice cream yet, we'll do it when dad can be there and not have to worry about studying. Kyle is just the happiest kid unless he is teething, which he is doing right now. People are always stopping us at the store to tell us how cute and smiley he is. He loves to eat but has slowed down in his growth. Not sure where he's at, his appt is next Thurs. He has been cruising around the furniture for some time but I don't think it will be long and he'll be walking. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to this or not. He has already figured out that if Sofie is touching something all he has to do is start crying and he will usually get it back. I think we need to work on that one. He has been really excited lately when Nathan comes home. He will crawl really fast to him and when he gets picked up give Dad really big hugs. To bad that is usually followed by some pretty nasty swipes and bites usually to the face. But he really is a good kid and we love him lots. Here are some cute pictures from yesterday. Also some random pictures are at the bottom.
Thanks to everyone that thought of Kyle for his birthday. He loved all his toys, even the ones he has had for a while.

He is definitely a boy and loves all the trucks and tools that he got.

Yes he is a climber. The other day he was in his high chair and when I turned around he had crawled on the table and was eating Sofie's doughnut that she had left. Let's just say she wasn't happy when she lost that to her brother.

He is really good at giving hugs. To bad he is usually biting along with them.

We made sugar cookies the other day and let Sofie decorate one. They were some pretty gross cookies but she had fun.

This is the pink frosting lip stick.
I have no idea what she was doing this day but she came out of her room wearing this. I had to sneak these pictures because as soon as she realized what I was doing she took off parts of the outfit. Silly girl. I think she was suppose to be getting ready for bed, that's why the pull-up.

Sofie says...
Sofie says so many funny things and unfortunately I don't remember them all. So I am going to try and post them here. That's if I remember.
First off, our car has been having some issues. Tonight at dinner Nathan and I were talking and this is how the next little bit of conversation went.
Sofie: So dad how was the car today?
Mom: What did you just say?
Sofie: I was talking to Dad.
Mom: Oh
Sofie repeats the question again and Nathan answers her. Then,
Sofie: gas costs 40bucks.
She then goes onto have a conversation about the cost of gas.
Where does this girl come from? She is so funny sometimes.
I know there is more and I hope I remember them soon.

Pumpkin Patch and Snow
Sofie's preschool went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch the other day. She had lots of fun. She went on a hayride and picked out a pumpkin.
The little boy in the red sweatshirt on the left side of the picture is her friend Bode. His parents are from Minnesota too and we have become good friends with them.

This is her friend Kayleigh. She is also in Nursery with Sofie.
The only picture I got of Kyle at the pumpkin patch. Kayleigh's mom was taking some pictures too. I might have to see if she has any more of Kyle.
Her pumpkin.
She carried it around with her all day. I finally convinced her to put it outside with the other ones.

It started snowing last night and so I decided that I was going to pull all the snow gear out. I was having her try it on and she wanted to go out right then. It was 8:00 in the morning but by the time she was all ready to go it was almost 8:30. She played outside for about a 1/2 hour and then was more than willing to come inside.
Like her bruise? I have no idea how she got it.

Just some cute pictures of Kyle.
I heard him in his room the other day and when I went to find him this is what I found. He was having tons of fun pulling all his diapers and everything else off of the changing table. What a nut.
Sofie was pulling toe fuzz out of poor Kyle's toes.
She was not giving up but he wanted no part of it. She won.

Potty Training, Preschool, Haircuts, Crawling and the Zoo
Well I think we have finally accomplished the feat of potty training. We have been trying for a while but she wanted nothing to do with it. But I think it has finally clicked. She has gone for almost two weeks with a couple accidents but that's to be expected, right? She is even telling us when she needs to go not us reminding her. We bought a little potty to go downstairs and I think she waits till she gets down there and then goes. Silly kid. Her Preschool teacher said that one day she was sitting there and all of a sudden her eyes got wide and she said she needed to go and she did it. I am so proud of her, this has taken quite a lot of time and I think we are finally there.
This is the potty chart we found at Wal-Mart and she has filled up three of them.

Sofie started Preschool a couple weeks ago. She is so cute and loves to go. She has already learned the letters F, C, and P. I picked her up on Thursday and when I asked what she had done she said I put glue on Paul and colored on him. Well I forgot her water cup and when I went back to get it I asked the teacher if she had done that. They said no Paul doesn't sit anywhere near her. I was then able to look at her page for the day and they were working on the letter P and they had taken Paul's picture and put it on her page and she used glue and crayons on his picture. The mystery was solved.
This was the day we were checking out the Preschool.
This is her actual first day without me there. I didn't think it was going to be hard but I was a little teary eyed.

Dad brought up the fact that Sofie needed a haircut so I called and set one up. I didn't want to go to short but when we got there this is what what happened.

After: I think she looks super cute but I was so sad to see all the hair gone. It took us quite a while to get to this point but hopefully this will help her hair come in thicker and that's not just a old wives tale.

Kyle is crawling and cruising like crazy now. I can't keep him out of anything. He especially loves the computer tower. That's fun, he is actually in it right now. But he's not screaming so that is a plus.
It's kind of hard to get pictures of a crawling kid so here are some cute ones of him and George.

Grandma Rock came into town last week and it was her birthday while she was here so we went to the Zoo. We met up with Chris and Alyssa and their two boys Ethan and Alex.
Sofie and Cousin Ethan watching the baby elephant.

Kyle's shirt from the Zoo. Thanks Grandma.
Alright this post is already long and the kids need baths for church tomorrow. There might be spelling errors and all that but oh well.
